Throughout my time at Zumbiel, I became familiar with ArtiosCAD software, and the Kongsberg machines in order to create and cut out paperboard and corrugated packaging.
I used this newfound knowledge to explore the boundaries of corrugate and paperboard by creating packaging for personal projects, and other, exploratory projects.
Designed with a focus of using light as a design element, "Sonata" explores the effects of light passing through the negative space of a portable lamp.
The lamp combines the various aesthetics of the 1950s; specifically inspiration was drawn from retro diners, and the ornate designs of furniture during that timeframe.
The goal of this project was to bring new light to the timeless game of chess through exploration of light and family of form.
Created from clear epoxy resin and inspired by gemstones, "A Priceless Gem" explores how light moves through and illuminates natural gemstone forms.
